Amy Butler's Cosmo Bag....

I finally had time to try the Cosmo bag from Amy Butler's Style Stitches (http://www.amazon.com/Amy-Butlers-Style-Stitches-Wonderful/dp/0811866696 ) .
It was harder than I anticipated but I love the way it turned out.

It is larger than I thought but I never really checked the measurements, I just fell in love with the bag. It would be perfect for a diaper bag or a weekender, I think it will be a little too large for everyday use

It has tons of pockets (2 on either side and 4 large ones on the inside)

I would love to try another one for everyday but I would shrink the pattern next time.
Now... I need to find a pattern for a matching wallet :)

I got to try a couple of new things these past couple of months. One of them being a DJ Lance Shirt. I was not sure how I could make it but I am pleased with how it came out. A friend ordered the whole crew for her daughters for Christmas
(sorry for the crummy picture)

I also did some vintage plane tees

I got the chance to make some super-hero outfits for some little ladies. Pictured is the pink one but I also made a lavender one (they must be some dynamic duo)

Here is the first clutch purse I have made for Pam

it has double magnetic closure and one pocket inside

This little one is for Megan who is going to have a baby girl soon.... this will be perfect to throw in her diaper bag. It has two pockets to hold just what she needs

And here are some things for the little lady once she gets here
A little white cocoon with a removable flower. There is also a matching flower on a skinny elastic headband

A long stocking cap

and a bear hat

I must say that I really do like the next three pictures (maybe I am a little biased but that is beside the point)
Kim ordered a set of these reindeer shirts for a gift and now I have to make them for my own kids because I love them so!

Pam's trio is turning 4 and Robots are their theme

Keri's boys also have a birthday coming up. They are celebrating by being super heroes. I had never made a satin cape before (and while it is more difficult to work with) I am a total convert... I love them! It is difficult to capture them in a picture (the red one is under the green one to help flatten it out a little)

I wish there were more hours in a day.... I have a bajillion projects in my head and not enough time to do them. A good friend of mine had shown me this awhile back and I thought it was super cute. I finally sat down to do it the other day and I really like the way the mug cozy came out. Sure, it is is not a necessity but it is fun!

Another friend ordered a "one" shirt for a friend of hers

Charlie and Lennon are turning 3 and I am guessing they like dinosaurs (because what kid doesn't??_

and finally I did another Sesame St. character... here is Abbie Cadabbie. (this one was fun, it was for a Mom while the Dad was Oscar and the kids were Elmo and Cookie Monster)

and that was only part of what I have been doing :)

I have made some purses for a March of Dimes benefit. Originally they were going to be matching mother / daughter bags (one large and one small bag)

but then I found this sparkly pink fabric and thought it would be awesome for a little lady

and finally my kid's have an awesome Speech Therapist and tomorrow will be her last day with my kids. She will be missed so I decided to make an extra extra large tote so she can carry all of her books, toys, and things she carries with her.
Like I said it is BIG and has three outer pockets and one large inside pocket

right now I am working on some totes, another giraffe, some OHIO shirts and the list continues :)

I made a new bag for a friend as a thank you gift. I really like the way it came out. It is a little small for me seeing as I carry an arsenal of supplies with two kids, but I can see myself in a couple of years with it. It has a magnetic clasp closure.

I have been busy with shirts too. The funny thing is that I had to make two different shirts for two different Bennys, both who were turning 2.

One was an Elmo (shown here with Cookie Monster and Grover)

and the other was Brobee (which I forgot to take a picture of)
I made some pillowcases with snap closures

It is a little sad how ridiculously excited that I am now that I finished my bag. It is the first time that I followed a pattern and it came out pretty good, I love my new sewing machine!

A matching headband (I didn't make them to match, I just had some scrap fabric and I keep trying to tweek different headbands to make it "perfect". I really like the fit of this one)

Then for Bella. She is in love with Hello Kitty

I made an extra large pocket on the outside for her to put her doll in. I even made a sleeping bag for the kitty

I love making shirts and crocheting but now I am totally addicting to my sewing machine and can't wait to try something else :)

The next two look much better when modeled by a baby.... but alas my babies are no longer babies so I have no models but this is a monkey hat with a "cape" (keep in mind that this is a photo prop and imagine a sweet chubby baby under that.... is your heart melting yet?)

I am a bit behind on posting some of the things that I have done lately (it is what happens when you are busy working on things, so for that I thank you!)
I made some capes for my kids. Jack took his before I was done with it and was running around the house saying "to the rescue!". He had a Buzz Lightyear one of course.
Bella though, she is part Princess and part Bad-ass so she gets this one

I have been busy... I mean really busy. The past month I have been teaching/observing classes 3-4 nights a week (even one Saturday) and making a boat load of things. Thankfully my schedule has backed down and I also finished 90% of my orders:
I had two set of Super Parents.

Joyce's boys are having a tool theme birthday party so with these shirts they will always have their tools with them (they also have a large initial on the back)

Connor and James are turning 2! James has Muno on the front of his shirt and Connor has his name on the back of the Brobee shirt

And then for the lovely Gretchen

and a beautiful tutu for Gretchen's little girl

I also sent out a "Fly Guy" tee and a pretty pink crown which I forgot to take pictures of... I really need to get on learning on how to take decent pictures... one day :)
Oh and in my "spare" time I have been making hats for my local NICU

I just got a picture of this awesome little boy who was born at 29 weeks wearing on of the hats... totally melted my heart :)

Sharon sent me a message asking me if I could make a blankee to match a onesie and I am so glad she did ... I really think it came out cute. The one side of the blankee is satin and the side with the applique is a soft minky fabric

I just finished and shipped my last shirts of 2010...I can't believe the year is just about over. Well 2011 will bring at least two reasons to celebrate. Kim's girls are turning one. She had the idea for this shirt and I am so glad that she did because I just love them!

Jen's little ones will also have a birthday in January. I will have to say that Muno and Foofah are the most popular shirts that I do!

I know it is silly but I was so excited to ship off my first order to Canada earlier in the week! It was for two vintage Canuck shirts

While these shirts were not sent international they were fun to make nonetheless.
These shirts went to a lovely set of twins to match some skirts they just got
(these shirts actually look much cuter in person... Santa needs to bring me photography lessons for Christmas)

These were done a little while ago for a friend but I am just getting around to posting them...

So I think that is all until after the holidays!

I can crochet!

This post will be more of an attention-whore post than normal...
A month ago I taught myself how to crochet and I love it! I first started with a hat for Bella, which I did without a pattern

then I wanted to see if I could follow a pattern so I made a hat for Jack and for my niece, Calla
Bella wore the one for Calla for just a bit, it was too big on her

but poor Jack has a big head so it fit better on him
I like to call this "Seriously Mom??"

Don't worry, he had it off in a minute

Poor Jack is less than thrilled in his own hat (which blends right into the chair, sorry)

I am just finishing up a hat for Bella with a flower on the front and ear flaps... pictures soon :)
The other thing I started with was making balls... this was what helped me learn. I decided to make a necklace for Bella (this was my first one so some of my balls are misshapen ... I must be 12 because I just chuckled at that statement)

I just then just finished this one for my niece. I added a flower to hers. I don't know If I like it or not.... thoughts?

Can you believe that Christmas is just under 2 weeks away?? I am excited but there never seems to be enough time....

My friend Keri asked me to make Christmas shirts for her twin boys. I was given free reign and for some reason I kept drawing a blank, I am better at making things for girls, I guess :P But they are done and I like the way they came out, hope you do too, Keri!

Holly ordered 2 onesies for a friend who was having a little girl. She wanted one to have the letter "A" on it:

This was such a close up so you can see the detail of the pink floss. It is important to show that because that matches the pink hearts on the onesie's bottom.

The other onesie had to be something "girly". I will be the first to admit that I have been dying to make this shirt... I had the idea a couple weeks ago and just had not had the chance to make it. I think it came out cute.... it isn't the most girliest idea I have ever had so I had to add a little flower for the baby giraffe.

Do you know The Geek Squad.... the tech people from Best Buy?? Well anyway I was asked to make a "uniform" for a little one because his father is a "Geek" himself.... well mini-geek here we come:

Debi asked if I could make a mermaid onesie for a friend's little one... I figured I would give it a shot and I think it turned out pretty cute... what do you think?

She also ordered shirts for her twins and their sister (the one shirt is folded over so that you can see the shoulder.... all flowers are different coordinating fabrics

Are you serious?? I can not believe that Christmas is coming up on so quickly! Well hope everyone is enjoying the season and is able to relax and enjoy (ha ha ha, because I know all of us that are Moms get to relax all the time, right?)
Well anyway.... here is a shirt for Miss Kendall's first birthday :)

These two ties are a surprise for two lucky little men... I think they are cute now but once the boys get in them, watch out there will no stopping the cuteness

Did you ever meet a cute Pirate? (Besides Johnny Depp of course!) Well I think once Mikey puts his new shirt on he will be the cutest. pirate. ever. AND he has a cape... so watch out world, here comes Mikey to save to the day!
